Level 2 NVQ Flooring Occupations

The floorcoverings NVQ has 3 optional units, one of the following must be completed:

• Installing textile floorcoverings in the workplace
• Installing resilient floorcoverings in the workplace
• Installing timber based floorcoverings in the workplace

All candidates must complete the following mandatory units:

• Assessing and preparing background surfaces and floorcoverings in the workplace
• Preparing and fitting underlays and floorcoverings in the workplace
• Setting out for laying floorcoverings in the workplace
• Surface preparation to receive floorcoverings
• Assessing and evaluating conditions for floorcoverings in the workplace
• Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the workplace
• Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the workplace
• Moving, Handling and Storing resources in the workplace
• Develop customer relationships

Once registered your assessor will contact you directly to agree an assessment plan outlining how evidence will be gained to satisfy the NVQ criteria.

This will include:

• On site assessments
• Witness statements
• Type of work undertaken
• Knowledge questions – written/verbal
• Professional discussions
• Digital evidence
• Recognised prior learning
• Leaning needs

The NVQ can take just a few weeks to complete, this all depends on how quickly you provide the assessor with your evidence.

The cost of the full NVQ, which includes all 9 mandatory units plus any 1 of the 3 optional units, is £750 + VAT.

The cost of any 1 of the additional optional units is £200 + VAT
