Perfect for anyone new to the world of luxury vinyl tiles. Are you a beginner looking to gain the skills needed to lay LVT with confidence? Or perhaps you're already working in the flooring trade and want to increase your knowledge and understanding of subfloor preparation & LVT installations.

Set over three days, our course is perfect for individuals who want to learn the fundamental practical skills and knowledge required to undertake LVT installations. You'll have the opportunity to work hands-on with our experienced trainers, gaining valuable experience and insight into the world of luxury vinyl tiles.

This course is extremely hands on to ensure you leave with the skills to be implemented in the workplace.

Sub Floor Preparation

Identifying various sub floors
Assess subfloors and environments
Demonstration of sanding and grinding machines
Basic testing of sub floors
Understanding and applying primers, moisture vapour suppressants
Understanding and applying epoxy damp proof membranes
Mixing and applying smoothing compounds
Templating for fabricated underlayment’s (ply)
Securing fabricated underlayment’s
Feather finish application

LVT Installation

Setting out for straight lay plank ½ shift and header spacing
Application of adhesives
Installing straight plank to field, perimeter, around architraves and pipes
Setting out of squared herringbone, full plank
Field installation of squared herringbone full plank, ensuring square is maintained
Completion of squared herringbone installation to field, perimeter, around architraves & pipes
Selecting & installing door trims/plates
Templating skills (extension activity)
