What are accreditations?
Achieving an accreditation is a mark of recognition & achievement proving that you have meta set level of criteria.
Our accreditations are quality assured by NOCN, a reputable awarding body, ensuring that successful candidates receive independent certification for their achievements.
Our accreditations are set at 3 levels, perfect fit for everyone.
An accreditation can be booked & taken when you are assured you hold the relevant knowledge, skills & behaviours to pass any of the listed accreditations.
We are more than happy to help any candidate assess which level they are best suited to;
this will involve having a discussion with one of our instructors/assessors.
General Information
- Candidates do not have to undertake any of the courses we offer to book the accreditation assessments.
- The assessment dates will be agreed with the candidate once successfully applied.
- All tools & equipment will need to be provided by the candidate on the day of the assessment.
- For any unsuccessful candidates, an action plan will be set for you by the assessor, to retake all or specific elements of the assessments. The cost will depend on the re-assessment required.
- Once the accreditation has been achieved, The Flooring Academy will claim for the
certification from NOCN (awarding body) this will take approximately 2-3 weeks.
This assessment will require candidates to complete:
- Online multiple choice question test
- Professional discussion with the assessor
- 1 day practical assessment
LVT Level 1 Assessment
This accreditation will show your customers that you possess all the basic skills to carry out essential installations. From this point when you’ve had on site experience and developed knowledge, skills, and behaviours a perfect progression route would be our level 2 skilled LVT installer accreditation.
The units of the accreditation that the candidate need to achieve are:
- Follow health and safety requirements when carrying out flooring works
- Follow information provided to carry out flooring works
- Protect the flooring works and environment from damage
- Carry out basic subfloor preparation works to ensure suitability for Luxury Vinyl Tile installations
- Conduct work in a professional manner to meet customer and workplace requirements during the installation of luxury vinyl tiles
- Install basic Luxury Vinyl Tile installations
- Acclimatise products and materials to ensure successful Luxury Vinyl Tile installations
- Set out basic Luxury Vinyl Tile installations
- Select and use appropriate adhesive for the type of Luxury Vinyl Tile works
- Install appropriate profiles fixing and fasteners for installing Luxury Vinyl Tiles
This assessment will require candidates to complete:
- Online multiple choice question test
- Professional discissuons with the assessor
- 1 day practical assessment
LVT Level 2 Assessment
This accreditation will show your customers that you hold a competent skill set to undertake LVT installations to a high quality. The assessment is challenging and will require lots of on-site experience and a vast range of skills to be successful.
Candidates who achieve the Skilled Level 2 accreditation can aspire to work towards our Level 3 Master Craftsman LVT installer!
- Implement safe working practice when carrying out flooring works
Interpret and apply guidance and instructions relating to flooring works
- Assess site conditions to ensure successful flooring installation
- Follow methods and practices to protect the environment and flooring works from damage
- Be able to assess suitability and carry out sub-floor preparation works to ensure suitability for luxury vinyl tile installations
- Conduct work in a professional manner which meets customer and workplace requirements and expectations during and post luxury vinyl tile (LVT) installations
- Meet required standards and manufacturers guidelines for the installation of luxury vinyl tiles (LVT)
- Acclimatise products and materials to ensure successful luxury vinyl tile (LVT) installations
- Set out luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floorcoverings to ensure a high standard of installation
- Select and use appropriate adhesive for the type of luxury vinyl tile (LVT) works to be undertaken
- Install appropriate profiles, fixings & fasteners for installing luxury vinyl tiles (LVT)
This assessment will require candidates to complete:
- Written knowledge question pack, sent out prior to the practical assessment
- Professional discussions with the assessor
- 2 day practical assessment
LVT Level 3 Assessment
Our highest and most prestigious accreditation which shows that you are a master of
your trade!
This accreditation is for all installers whose knowledge skills and behaviours are at an advanced level and can advise/recommend skilled workers and their clients of what actions will get the best results in line with the British and Occupational Standards.
The knowledge skills and behaviours that are required to pass is set at the highest standard.
- Employ advise and provide safe working practice when carrying out flooring works
- Interpret and apply guidance and instructions relating to flooring works
- Assess site conditions to ensure successful flooring installation
- Ensure the environment and flooring works are protected from damage
- Assess the work environment and carry out sub-floor preparation works to ensure suitability for luxury vinyl tile installations in more complex areas
- Conduct work in a professional manner which meets customer and organisational requirements and expectations prior to, during and post luxury vinyl tile (LVT) installations
- Meet required standards and manufacturers guidelines for the installation of luxury vinyl tiles (LVT)
- Acclimatise products and materials to ensure successful luxury vinyl tile (LVT) installations
- Set out luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floorcoverings to ensure a high standard of installation when fitting specialist design work
- Select and use appropriate adhesive for the type of luxury vinyl tile (LVT) works to be undertaken
- Plan and install appropriate profiles fixing and fasteners for installing luxury vinyl tiles (LVT)
- Know the importance of cleaning and maintaining luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floorcoverings and provide guidance to clients
