This three-day level 2 course is designed for fitters with a good understanding and ability of installing LVT, this covers more technically challenging skills that will give you the confidence to carry out more intricate installations.

During this course, you will learn a full range of scribing techniques that can be applied in the real world, saving you valuable time on your installations. The challenges may be tough, but the rewards will be worth it as you enhance your skills and set yourself apart in the industry.

Sub floor preparation

Identifying sub floors, underfloor heating systems
Assess subfloors and environments
Hygrometer and indicative testing
Mechanical preparation
Crack repair systems
Sub floor consolidation
Renovation/refurbishment problem solving
Applying smoothing compounds (rake, pin leveller, cam rake)
Templating for fabricated underlayment’s (ply) around obstacles
Securing fabricated underlayment’s
Feather finish application

Installation

Setting out for herringbone, understanding shift lines, making the job easier
Understanding various adhesives and application
Installing herringbone to field and around centre islands
Using guillotines to achieve field to border cuts, making the job easier
Templating around curved perimeters
Completion of herringbone installation to border, around architraves & pipes shaped walls
Backmarking herringbone to wall & around obstacles, learning various scribing techniques
Selecting & installing door trims/plates
